Neal Ostman

Neal Ostman began writing poetry in 1998. Since then, his poetry has appeared in paper and e-zines including: artsDFW guide; ComradesUK.com; Electric Acorn, Dublin, Ireland; The Fort Worth Poet; Lotuseaters.net; New Texas 2001; Niederngasse.com; Pierian Springs and Wired Art from Wired Hearts. His poem “Saturday Morning” was a finalist in the 2001 William Faulkner Creative Writing Competition. In 2002, “In Provincial Land” (now appearing under the title ‘Chilliwack’) was a finalist in the Dallas Poets Community Contest. These competitions involved submissions from over 600 poets living in the United States or internationally. Neal has taught at seminars including the OU Short Course on Professional Writing and Texas Writers’ Conferences. He has previously published humor and op-ed pieces. Neal is a member of The Oak Cliff Circle of Poets and the Trinity Writers Workshop, in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. He lives in Colleyville, Texas. His poetry readings have been well received at many venues in Dallas/Fort Worth and Denver.
