The writers’ group now known as Trinity Writers’ Workshop (TWW) originated in 1975, in Lu Spurlock’s home on
In April 1979, our writers’ group began meeting once a week. In January 1983, after trying out various venues, TWW found a home in the Trinity arts building at the Bedford Boy’s Ranch, and continues to meet there each Tuesday evening.

About Lu….
Lu Spurlock was the driving force behind many of the local writers groups which exist today in the Metroplex.
In 1975, she invited several local writers to form a critique group that would meet weekly in her home. This small effort eventually mushroomed and became D/FW Writers. These individuals, an eclectic group possessed of different goals and personalities as well as an ever changing need for meeting night options, periodically broke off and formed other groups. One of those groups was Trinity Writers’ Workshop.
Spurlock poured her heart and soul into this organization, endearing herself to its members for all time. When she passed away in 1999, it was an enormous loss to all those who knew her.
