Babe Ruth Strikeout Contest ~ hosted by
Lifetime TWW member Barbara Fryrear
You cannot get an acceptance without a few rejections.
Babe Ruth holds the record for slugging percentage (.378) even after 82 years. Had he not stood at bat 8398 times and struck out 1330 times, he would not have earned 2873 hits to maintain his record since 1924.
He is in eleven categories of the top fifty all-time baseball leaders—and incase you’re checking, that’s every single category listed in Baseball Digest—because he tried, again and again.
In that vein, we celebrate our writers’ submissions as much as their rejections—because they tried, again and again.
